(from our own correspondent.) .;. Nelson, Dec. 27. The Provincial Government has instructed surveyors to -proceed to-morrow to ascertain the line between Mount Arthur and Mount Owen, really for the purpose, as admitted by the Provincial Secretary, of enabling the purchasers of land at Wangapeka to go into court and bring evidence, as supplied by Government. This is considered very unjust until the decision of the Government is recived on Mr Domett's reports. This precipitate action, while matters are still in abeyance, is the same as sending up Mr Warden Broad, knowing that a petition was in hand to the General Government. It is understood that it is proposed to extend the boundary of the gold fields to the lliver Motueka, or thereby ; therefore, there is no need to take Mount Owen into account. The thing looks like the Provincial Government identifying itself with the purchasers. Mr Domett's decision is not on the question of the boundary," but that auriferous atid has been illegally sold as rural land.
