Any jockey not riding in colors declared on night of general entry will be fiifed £1 Is. Anyone making an objection or protest will be required to deposit £2 with one of the Stewards or Secretary before the objection will be entertained, and if the Stewards declare such objection or protest to be -frivolous or vexatious the £2 v will be forfeited. No entries will _bfe received^ except upon the following conditions, ,viz. : — " The decision of the Stewards, or whom they may appoint, shall in all cases be conclusive . . and binding in matters connected with the races, and law proceedings barred. Entries and nominations must be made in wiiting, under cover, addressed to the Secretary, and must contain subscription (if not previously given) and entrance money, together with the name of the owner, age of horse, colors of rider, and delivered not later than 8 p.m. on Monday, the 20th day of December, 1869, at Gough's Hotel, Ahaura. Letters bearing postmark of thatdatewill b&T received. To suit the convenience of up-w country residents, the Secretary will receive entries before that time, subject, however, to approval of Stewards. - In the event of a walk over only half the stake will be paid.
