The Westpori Times regrets to learn that a very serious landslip happened at the Black Lead, Charleston, on Friday last.. On Saturday afternoon the large dam of the " Who'd havie thought it" Company, at Charleston, burst. The continued downpour of rain so filled the dam that the embankment gave way to such an extent as to flood the channel leading across the DarkieV Terrace road, carrying away, the bridge near the church, and doing serious damage to several workings.
