Heriod advises thirty as the lowest at which a man should take a wife, and fifteen as the feminine nupital period. A time of life which Plato also deemed most suitable, while Aristotle would have delayed it still later, namely, to thirty-seven in the case of man. An Eastern writer says : " Whatever may be the age of the world, it is old euouah to be bcttei than what it is."
