THE REPORTED DISCOVERY OF GOLD AT HAWKE'S BAY.
v ■ (To the Editor of tHe Grey River A rgus. ) Sir — I wish to call your attention to the great excitement which has been caused lately in this town through the reports of a payable gold field having been found in this Province. Now, Sir, I have no hesitation in saying it is all a hoax, as numbers of people here are doing their utmost to cause a rush to tliis Province. It appears to me the old identities are ignorant of the danger of causing a rush of practical miners to Hawke's Bay. You are at liberty to make whatever use you please ' of the above.— lam, «£c, Thomas Haii. Napier, Hawke's Bay, September 11.
