Tuesday, A.ugust 3. (Before W. H. Revell, Esq., R.M.) CIVIL CASES. D. Buckley v, Marks.— Claim of L 3 Os 7d, for carriage of goods from the mouth of the Teremakau to the Junction. The vvay-bill was produced, the delivery of the goods proved, and the defendant's promise to pay sworn to. The defence was that the goods were carried by one Scott, and the carriage of them had been paid for. A way-bill for the same goods was produced. Scott's storeman stated that the goods in question were never carried by Scott or went through his store, and that he heard defendant promise to pay plaintiff the amount. Trustee in the estate of Stephen Egan v. Michael Hart.— Claim of LlO. Case dismissed, Wednesday, August 4. G. Cooper was charged with obstructing the thoroughfare, by having a hand-cart thereon, and was fined 5s and costs.
