Artist (Photographic)^-Oh yes, Mum, we can take anything ; we can take the sun, which is millions of miles off, Old Lady (struck with an idea) — Oh, you can. Then, if you would besergood as ter take half a dozen of my son in Austeraylia, which it's only thousands of miles off, I should take it as a favor. Who is petted to death by ladies with marriageable daughters? The Bachelor. Who is invited to tea and evening parties, and told to drop in just when it is convenient? The bachelor. Who lives in clover all his days, and when he dies has flowers strewn on hia grave by the girls that ceuld not entrap him ? The bachelor. Who goes to bed early because time drags heavily with him ? The married man. Who gets a i scolding for picking out the softest part of the bed, and for waking up the baby in the morning? The married man. Who has wood to split and marketing to do, the young ones to wash, and lazy servants to look after? The married man. Who is taken up for whipping his wife? The married man. Who gets divorces ? The married man. Of all the joys vouchsafed to man in life's tempestuous whirl, there's nought so near approaches heaven as sleighing with a girl — a rosy, laughing, buxom girl ; a frank, good, natured girl ; a feeling, flirting, dashing, doating, smiling, smaoking, jolly, joking, junfcy, jovial, poser-poking, dear little duck of a girl. Pile up your wealth a mountain high, you sneering, scoffing chuil, I'll laugh as I go by with my jingling bells, and girl— the brightest, dearest, sweetest girl ; tho trimmest, gayest neatest girl ; the funniest, fairest, roundest, ripest, roughest, rarest, spiciest, squirmiest, squariest, best of girls, with drooping lashes, half-concealing amo. rous flashes — just the girl for chap like me to court, aud love, and marry, you see — with rosy cheeks and clustering curls, the sweetest and best of girls.
