Receipts for month of June, 1869 — ' Duties . . £4375 4 3 Miscellaneous . 10 0 10 Gold duty . . 1048 2 2 £5,433 7 3 Melbourne.— The Argus of the I9fch inst. reports : — In the import markets to-day, no business of a special character has been made public. In breadstuff*, we observe amongst the millers an evident uneasiness in regard to supplies, and notwithstanding that higher rates have been paid for some time past for wheat than are warranted by the price of flour, it is feared that still higher figures will have to be offered before supplies can be drawn out on a scale to meet requirements. A line of 10,000 bushels Tasmanian wheat changed hands this afternoon at a higher price than has yet been touched fur this description. Best simples of Victorian realise for small lots 6s Id to 6s 2d. Flour is quitted at LI 3 10s. The improved feeding iv regard to oats is confirmed by the sale of 3100 bags (12,400 bushels) Tasmaninii, sold on private terms ; quotations are very firm at from 4s to 4s 3d. Maize is iv very brisk demand at 4s Id Io 4s 2d. A considerable parcel of gunnies, an entire shipment, was cleared off at a concession ou our ordinary quotations of 7s 3d. At the bonds, sales of tobacco were made as follows : — Barrett's twist, all faults, if any, realised Is 3ijd ; aromatic pounds brought G-^d ; half pounds, B|.l to lOd ; bars, 7^l to Bfd. In liquids, we learn of the disposal of equal to 160 quartet - casks pale and dark MarteU's brandy, on terms withheld A full figure is stated to have been obtained. Unsatisfactory runio s regarding the position of a Launceston firm engaged in the agriculturd produce trade have been circulated in the city.
