Advices from St. Petersburg relate that the Grand Duke Nicholas, of Russia, when lately proceeding by railway to Odesta, had a narrow escape from destruction. The Imperial train contained, besides ihe Prince, the English Ambassador, Lady Buchanan, and several persons of hr^h distinction. It had just pass 3d at full speed over the bridge of Seim, between Koursk and Kiew, when the whole structure fell in, and another train which followed full of travellers was precipitated into the river. The number of viotiius is declared to be considerable, About a quarter to eleven o'clock on Monday night, April 12, a fire was discovered to he raging in an extensive block <>f buildings occupied as seed and hop warehouses in Kentish Buildings, High street, Sonthwark, tenanted by several firms connected with the Hop Exchange. The huge block of buildings in which the conflagration originated was completely gutted, The premises in which the fire originated were in the occupation of Messrs Frid and Son, hop factors. At one time no fewer than seventeen engines were at work. Several of the adjacent houses are much damaged by fire and water. The damage cannot be estimated at less than L 30,000,
