Her Yarra, for Hokitika : 30 tons coal, D. Maclean and Co.

The p.s. Bruce, Captain Christian, from Nelson and Westport, arrived in the river early on Tuesday morning. She left Nelson on Thursday, and after reaching Farewell Spit she had to return to Totaranni for shelter from a strong head wind and sea. Got to sea again at mid-day on Friday, and reached Westport at 1 p.m. on Saturday. Left there on Monday night, and called in at Brighton, arriving here as above. On Tuesday afternoon she left again for Hokitika, returned here yesterday evening, and left for Westport a few hours later. The p. s. Yarra, Captain Kerley, from Hokitika, with a large cargo of timber, &c, arrived on Tuesday. Yesterday she took in a return carpo of coal, and left in the evening for Hokitika. The p. s. Lyttelton, Captain Scott, from Nelson and Westport, arrived on Tuesday afternoon with a considerable oaiy>, which she discharged, and sailed on her return trip early yesterday morning. The s.s. Gothenburg is making a good trip round the ports. She was at Nelson yesterday, and will consequently be here at his specified time. She is announced to leave to-morrow for Melbourne direct, forwarding passengers to Sydney and Adelaide, The s.B. Alhambra is due at Hokitika today from Melbourne direct. On arrival she will be despatched with passengers for Nelson, other New Zealand ports, and Melbourne.
