It is said there seems to he some mistake !as to the name of the clergyman in England who has been appointed Bishop of New Zealand. The telegram lately published by us, stated that the Rev. Mr Cowie, rector of Stafford, and formerly chaplain to the Bishop of Calcutta, had been appointed. This is confirmed by the Melbourne Age, from which paper the telegram supplied to us by the Government appeal's to have been taken. The Argus telegram says distinctly "the Rev-Mr Stafford ia to be the' new Bishop of New Zealand." Perhaps some of pur clerical readers may be in a position to solve the riddle. Nervous Gentleman: "Now, be careful how you drive, Cabby ; and go slowly over the stones, for I hate to be shaken. And, mind you, pull up at the right house j and look out for those dreadful railway vans." Cabby : "Never fear, sir, I'll do my best. And which 'orsepital would you wish, to be took to, sir, in caso of an accident ?"
