It is annourced that the Government has resolved to adopt Sir J. D. Coleridge'B bill abolishing University tests. A man named Cooper has been arrested at Birmingham for attempting to hang his son, six years old. The man, a confirmed drunkard, seems to have hesitated before the crime was completed. A boy was brought before a London magistrate charged' with, having been drunk and incapable. In defence the child said, " I had been out drinking with .some other lads, and when they had made me so drunk that I could not move, they left me on the pavement to do the best I could." He was discharged.
