Notice is Hereby Given that the following Bye-law was proposed a* a ineetiug of the Council of the Borough of Greymouth, held on the 22ii I .lay of March insta'it, an:l. fnrthermoro, that the s;«ne will be considered • at a ineetiug of the Council, to be held next after the expiration of seven days from the date of the publication of this, notice. Bye-Law No. 2-of the Council of the Borough of Greymouth, made under and in pursuance of clause 186 of part thirteen of the Municipal. Corporations Act, 1867, the Council of the Borough ofGrey mouth ordains as follows.: — 1. That this Bye-law shall apply only to such. wharfs, jettys, piers, or quays as belong to and are under the sole management and oontrol of the Council of the Borough of Greymouth. 2. The word vessels for the purpose of this Bye-law shall mean all sailing vessels, steamers, lighters, and steam tugs entering the River Grey. _.-•"■ 3. It shall be lawful for the Council from time to time to make regulations for all or anyof the folio wing purposes : That is to say— Ist. For appointing the tonnage rates and tolls to be paid in respect of any ship or .vessels loading or unloading, or refitting, from or at any such wharf, pier, jetty, or quay,- or in any other manner making use thereof for such purposes as aforesaid. 2nd. Every person offending contrary to any regulation made under this Bye-law shall forfeit, on conviction; a sum not exceeding Ten Pounds. • By order, > JOHN A. WHALL Town Clerk. TENDERS are invited, at per cubic yard, for placing Large Rock behind the Protection Works on Mawhera and Richmond Quays. Permission will be given for laying a feamway from a site which will be granted for quarrying the stone required by the Council, which site will be pointed out by the Town Surveyor to contractors on application.
