Egmont, for Sydney, 7th inst. VESSELS IN PORT. Disnatch, tug steamer. Ann, from Charleston.

Since our last there has been very little to report in shipping business, th^re having been only one arrival and departure. On Tuesday morning the p.s. Dispatch towed to sea the brigantine Sarah Ann, for Newcastle, and yesterday afternoon the s s. Kennedy arrived from Nelson via Westport and Hokitika. The weather has remained fine, the bar without a ripple, and the channel straight and deep. The 8.8. Kennedy, Captain Whitwell, arrived yesterday afternoou from Nelson, after calling at Westnort and Hokitika. Since she last visited this port the Kennedy has been cleaned, repainted, and decorated, and has a very smart appearance. She left . Nelson on Saturday at 1 p. m., arrived at Westport at 9 a.m. on Sunday ; left again on Tuesday at 2 a.m., arrived off Hokitika at 10 a.m., and crossed the bar at noon, leaving for this port on Wednesday afternoon, and arriving here as above. " The p.s. Bruce has arrived at Nelson, and is expected on the coast soon. Since her last visit here she has changed owners, Mr P. Greer having, before he left Wellington for England, sold out his interest in her and the s.s. Beautiful Star for LIO,OOO. The purchasers were Messrs Harper and Houghton. The s.B. Egmont is now daily expected from Nelson, and is announced to be despatched from this port for Sydney-direct on Sunday ' next. '
