INDIA AND THE EAST.
Calcutta, Oct. 20. Disturbauces have occurred in the North-west. Two brigades have been despatched to restore order. Nearly the whole of Upper India is suffering from an unusual drought, while in Calcutta more than the usual quantity of rain has fallen. Advices from Simla have decided the Governor -General and Commander-in- ' Chief to go to Peshawar, where a large camp has been assembled. — — —
