Dear Sir— We, the undersigned Electors of the Borough of Greymouth, respectfully request that you will yet allow yourself to be placed in Nomination as. a Candidate to represent us in the County Council. From our past experience of your political career, we believe that in again entrusting our interests to your care you will watch over them with the same earnestness you have done hitherto. We should have taken the opportunity of presenting you with this requisition af a much earlier period, but we considered ;t unnecessary, believing you would again be a Candidate for our suffrages. Pledging ourselves to give you our warmest i support, and hoping yon may find it convenient to comply with our request. When J announced my intention of withdrawing from the approaching contest, I felt that I was to some extent guilty of deserting you at a time when of all others you needed the services of those who had already given you an earnest of the sincerity of their endeavors to promote your interests and those of the County generally. That misgiving has been strengthened by the influential requisition you have presented me, and X cannot now any longer Jiesitate to offer you the continuance of my services. Jam glad to think that my pas.t political conduct has been so satisfactory to. you as to pall for t&e confidence which you have .done me the honor to express, I can only say further that should I again be returned as o.ne of your members in the County Council you shall not have cause, to recal the trust you have reposed in me.
