GREY RIVER STEAM TUG COMPANY (LIMITED).
An extraordinary general meeting of the shareholders of the Grey River Steam Tug Company was held in Kilgour's Hotel on Saturday afternoon, for the purpose of considering the advisability of declaring a dividend. Mr H. H. Labtnan was in the chair. Mr G. W. Moss, the secretary, presented a balance-sheet showing that during the last three months the p.s, Dispatch had earned £1706 in towages, and the working expenses amounted to £Sb" 7, which left a sum in the bank sufficient to pay a divideud at the rate of ten per cent., leaving a balance to credit of £166. A saving in the working expenses of the boat of £100 per month had been effected. The chairman said the state of affairs was considerably better than when the last dividend was declared. On the last occasion the account was made up to the Bth of the month, but this time it was ouly up to the Ist November, and a balance over the ten per cent, of £lb'(i, which would go towards the next dividend. Ifc was probable that in future a divUend of ten per cent, would be declared every quarter. It was then moved, seconded', and uuaiiiinously agreed to that a divideud for the quarter, afc tbe rate of ten per cent , be declared. Votes of thanks were then given to the chairman, secretary, and director.*-, and the meeting adjourned.
