[Advertisement. ] r I tHERE is an old saying that when people JL are called upon for to pay, pay, pay, they get so very dull that they hardly know what they are doing. I would propose that the people of Greymouth take a walk and consume a little fresh . air for a week, and I have no doubt but that they will save by it ; and as they come by the white crags they will say — "That is the stuff for protective works, instead of driving and shaking the bottom out of the river with piles that must rot after all." Now, when the people have opened their eyes, I do not doubt they will see through the young family of Pharoahs. Let us hope for the best, however, that the people will take a walk very soon — before the Pharoahs get all. STEAMERS COALED, With either NELSON OR WESTLAND COAL, AT SIXTEEN SHILLINGS PER TON.
