We, the undersigned Merchants, Miners, and others, while „ heartily congratulating you on your return to Greymouth, are really not sorry that on a close inspection of other Gold Fields (whether Thames or Gympie) you find it was only the distance that made them enchanting, and that you have come back a wiser if not a richer man. Trusting this third lesson will show you the folly of again leaving Greymouth, which, from its admirable port and great natural resources, is destined to be the first place on the West Coast.
