NEWS BY THE PANAMA MAIL.
[By Electkic Telegraph.] The P.N.Z. and A.R.M. s.s. Rakaia arrived at Wellington at 7 P-m. Left Panama at midnight on 21st September, and experienced light S.E. trades to Opara, where she arrived on 9th October. Left at 5 p.m. on the 10th, and had a succession of strong head winds and high, seas. The latest dates are — From Europe to September 2, and via New York to September 8. Passengers — For Wellington : Mrs Stewart, Dr Pearson, Messrs R. Price, C. B. Wharton, A. Hathway, C. J. Powell, and J. Anderson. For Auckland : Dr Thornton, Messrs B. Thornton and W. G. Turrell. For Napier: Captain Wright and Mr E. T. Towgood. For Otago : Miss Gascoigne, Messrs Camnie, Adams, L. Calcott, N. Haynes, aud C. Faulkner. For Canterbury : Dr Fisher. For Melbourne : Captain Desboen, Messrs J. Justice and L. Davidson. For Sydney : Mrs Brasier and three children, Miss Watts, Dr Healey, Messrs Sandiman, Harmer, and J. A. Chanander.
