POST OFFICE NOTICE. MAILS CLOSE. For Victoria, New South Wales, Tasmania, and Que3i.sland, per s.s. Tararua, immediately on the arrival of the steamer in the roadstead. For Ahaura, every Thursday, at 4-30 p.m, For Rutherglen, every Tuesday. For Brighton, St. Kilda, Charleston, and Wcstpovt, every Wednesday, at 4,30 p.m. For Hokitika and Paroa, daily. For Cobden, Brunnerton, and Twelve Mile Lauding, every Tuesday and Friday, at 9 a. in. For Christchuroh, every Sunday and Wednesday, at 4.30 p.m. Money orders must be procured and letters registered one hour previous to the closing of the mail by which it is intended to transu i\, tliein. In future, the Post Office will be open to the public, for the transaction of Money Order and Savings Bank business, on ordinary days from 9 o'clcck a.m. to 4 o'clock p.m., anil on Saturdays, and on the day previously to the closing of the Mails for the United Kingdom, from 9 o'clock a.m. to 5 o'clock Lettern for sea borne mails will be forwarded if posted within forty minutes after the advertised time for closing the mailf, such letters to bear a late fee of u'd, in addition to the postage, the whole to be affixed n postage stamps.
