The motion that Mr Moses Alexander be prohibited from coining within the precincts of the Houses of Parliament was moved on the 15th ult. in the Legislative Assembly, and got rid of by the previous question being carried. Both the mover and the seconder of the motion — Messrs Bowman and M'Kean — admitted that in taking the course they did they were actuated, not merely by a desire to exclude Mr Alexander from the lobbies and other portions of the House, but also in order to afford Mr Jones, who was so deeply ii - terested in the statements which have lately been made, and whom they deemed too reticent, an opportunity of making an explanation. The hon. member, however, seemed very ungrateful for the kind consideration of his friends and supporters ; his ordinary assurance and fluency seemed to have deserted him ; he remainedquiescent, making no sign. Such " lamb-like" forbearance is really most edifying.
