PILOT SIGNALS FOR GREY RIVER
L. Ball and red' flag at m.ast-head,— Jßigh water, take the bar. 2, Ball and blue flag, half-mast — Halfflood, wait for tide ; when the bar may safely be attempted at half-Hpo4 the red flag will be at mast-head. 3, Ball upon lower-mast cap with white flag — Ebb tide, bar dangerous. 4Nq signal— Do not attempt to take the bar. 5. Ann pointing to the right hand entering from Bei)ward— More to the Soui^. 6. Arm pointing to the left hand entering from seaward— More to the North. 7. Arm up and down with sign mast — As yon go. 8. When more than pne vessel is crossing the bar, thn foremost vessel will be piloted by the signals, the others following in her Wake, 9. The beacon bearing a pole with a red flag and the flagstaff in one leads over the bar. Blue pennant over white-rrSteamer from the south. White pennant over blue -Steamer from the north. THOS.
