A Bill to admit the Alabama representatives to Congress has been recommitted by those representatives to the Reconstruction Committee. The Senate Court met on March 13 for the trial of President Johnson. The Court ordered the President to file his answers to tho articles of impeachment on or before 23rd March, when Johnson's counsel filed an answer, denying all the charges, and applied for a delay of thirty days to prepare for trial, j?"?3 Senate refused the application by 4 votes against 12. The House of Representatives filed a reply to the answer of Johnson. The reply affirms all the charges.
