At Myrniong, in the Pentland Hills, an accident of a painful nature occurred on Sunday, 3rd inst., to a little girl belonging to MrN. Hardle, of Pyke's Creek. The child was amusing herself among the fowls, when she was Bavagely attacked by an old cock, who threw her down and fiercely struck his spurs into her head, and undoubtedly would have killed her but for the timely arrival of assistance, attracted to the spot by her screams. Medical assistance was procured, and the little sufferer, though greatly injured about the head and ears, ia progressing favorably,
