The WeitpoH Timu says :— " A good deal of property has recently changed hands in Charleston. The latest sales are Hennelly and Millen's store on the beach, and sold by Mr Dwan forL2s 5 and Alcorn'g old store in the catting for'L2B, both large and commodious building, but situated in what is now a neglected part of the town. On the same day as the sale last mentioned, there was also •old by the same auctioneer the Phoenix Brewery, lately in the possession of Messrs Speer and Clarke, which was knohked down to Mr Behan for L 285, Mr Pizzey, from Hokitika, who was present, going as high as L2BO. The next day Mr Behan disputed the purcnase, and the property was again put up tnd knocked down to Mr Gasquoine for Ll5O.
