The cargo of Mauritius sugar, per Alexandra, was offered hy auction this forenoon, and some 2060 bags found huvers. at 29s for good browns, 30s fid to 31s for fine brown to low yellow. 32s 3d to 33s for middling yellow, and 35s Cd to 37s for low to middr'ng white — 7 r'ces fully anstiininj? late sale rates. Some 4000 mats of Bi ur»bo 1 srg ir will be offered to-morrow. Teas nr<? moving off in fair quantifies, at prices ranging from Is 6d to 2s. A line of 150 half-chests and 100 chests were disposed of privately, while under the hammer 281 chests, 283 half-chests, and 73 boxes congous, were quitted at Js H<l to la 2cl for low, Is 5d to Is s|d for medium, and 2s for good. We note a fair trade demand for Patna rice, at L 26 to L2G 10s. Ahont 1400 bags of Java me advertised for auction sale to-morrow. Kerosene <>il is very firm. We hear of offers for Downer's at Is 9£d having been turned away. Fine tens tobacco are wanted. We learn of some 300 boxes and 46 cases Two Seas having changed hands on private terms. In liquids, sales of good medium port wine are mentioned at L4O, in bond ; and sales of red wines have been made at Ll4. Hennessy's brandy is inquired for, and sales can be made at 295. Our HobartTown files are to the 17tli inst. The Mercury says: — "The business in thfi wheat and flour markets to-day was eon fined to the execution of orders to meet the usnnl trade requirements, the arrival of theEnslish and intercolonial news preventing any large operations. On the publication of the Mercury's Extra to-da}', containing the quotations of the produce markets in the other colonies, prices of wheat and nViir showed a disposition to harden, and extended operations are expected to take place to-morrow."
