Coastwise orders continue comparatively small ; but up-country and town trade have possessed a moderate degree of briskness. The market for breadstuff's and grain have been station ary, but not inactive . New wheats are coming forward in better supply. B^^rowersare obtaining maintained prices, but

have dismissed the present expectation of better rates. Flour stands at last quotations, the market better supplied with country brands. Oats not brisk — prices to some extent will be regulated by Australian advices; and in the absence of any late intelligence, no change can be reported. The business in liquids has been light. In spirits, genevas, and rum remain at very full rates, and transctions are, in consequen ce, individoally s,inall. Hennessy's brandies in bulk and case have been quitted to some little extent at 8s ane 31s. In malt liquors, importers' s,ales have been very small. For stouts iv glass a demand is maintained, but all others neglected. Sugars quiet, pending the sale of the Centaur's cargo, to take place on the 17th. Ten* in fair inquiry, the market acquiring a firmer tone, and holders anticipating better rates. Sales of galvanised iron and timber are reported at maintained prices. Corn sacks still in request, but holders demanding too extreme rates tp allow of much business. Candles and kerosene at present quiet, but improvement looked for. Provisions very dull. Endish bacon has of late been quite an inconsiderable article of trade. Hams are in fair request, but supply small and prices high. Colonial cheese and butter plentiful, the former at Sd, and the latter at Is to lsO£d. '
