The walkiug-fever has reached the following point, which may be safely ri - garded as the crisis. An amateur pedestrian makes the following offer : — " I will walk with any good-looking girl, who has a fortune in her owu right, upon any given moonlight night, both parties to go as slow as they please, and neither to hurry back to the parting point. I will then, on the word, walk into her affections, and walk off with her fortune."
