Otago.— The Daily Times of March 23 reports : — Since the review of markets on the sth inst., trade has been marked by more steadiness than briskness. A fair amount of bnsi? ness for provincial requirements has been goinc; forward, and up-country orders during the last fortnight have linen heavier. The only arrh als have been the ships Viola from Glasgow, and England from London. Of ships due from foreiun ports none have come to hand. Breadstuff's and grains have altered slightly iv the direction of improvement; but no better business can be noticed, except in oats, inquiry for which has been brisk during the last day or two. Maize is steady sifc 3s lOd to 4s for sound paresis Sales of prepared opium are mentioned at 255. Chinese oil is quitted at 4s 3d ; the price, however, is considered most unsatisfactory.
