One mile. Entrance 2 soys. TowJf Plate, of 50 soys, open to all horses. Weight for age. Two miles. Entrance 5 soys. Butchers' Purse, of 30 soys, for horses the bona fide property prior to Ist of -Feb. of letail butchers on the West Coast. Weight for age. The winner or second in the Trial Stakes or Town Plate to carry respectively, a penalty of 71bs and 3lbs. One mile and a distance. Entrance 3 soys. •Hurdle Race, of 50 soys, open to all horses. Weight for age. Heats ; one mile and a half. Entrance 5 soys. Hack Race, of 10 soys, open to all horses. One mile. Entrance, 1 soy, added. Post entry. V SECONDJDAY— WEDNESDAY. Greymouth Handicap, of 125 soys, open to all horses. Two miles and a quarter; the second horse to have his full entrance money returned. Nomination with only 2 soys. to be made on the nkht of general entry. The weights will be made and declared previous to 9 o'clock in the evening of the first day's racing, so as to allow the Stewards full opportunity of rating the merits of the horses by the previous day's running. Acceptances with 8 soys. must be given to the Stewards before 11 o'clock the same, evening. Cobden Plate, of 30 soys, under the same conditions as the Trial Stakes ; but the winner of that race to c/ury 7lbs penalty and the second horse 31bs. Heats ; one jroile and a quarter. Entrance, 3 soys. Ladies' Purse, of 50 soys, open to all horses ; gentlemen riders ; welter weight for age. One mile and a half. Entrance, 5 soys. Hurdle Handicap, of 100 soys, open to all ' horses. Two miles and a distance. Nominations with 2 soys entrance fee to be made on the night of general entry. Weights to be made and declared on night of first day's running, as per Greymouth Handicap, and acceptance of 8 soys, under same conditions as Greymouth Handicap. Hack Race, of. 10 soys, open to all horses, one mile. Entrance, 1 soy, added. Post entry. Consolation Stakes, of 25 soys, for. all horses that have not wen during the meeting. Handicap, one mile. Entrance, 2 soys. REGULATIONS. The rules of the Canterbury Jockey Clab ' will be enforced, unless when otherwise specified. Entries and nominations to be made on Saturday evening, March 14; previous to nine o'clock, at KUgour's Union Hotel. All entries and acceptances must be in writing, specifying age and description of horse, and colors of rider, and contain the requisite moncy^ All horses must be riden in colors. In all or any disputes the decision of the Stewards be' final. A qualification of 2 soys must be paid, by non-subscribers to that amount, except for the Packers' Purse. All stakes paid lsss I per cent towards expenses.
