Mr Robt, P. WMtworth, of the firm of Bailliere and Co., publishers, of Melbourne, arrived by the Gothenburg at Wellington. He has come over to New Zealand to. compile a Gazetteer pf the colony, similar in character to the gazetteers of Victoria, New SJo'uth Wales, and South Australia, already compiled by him. The New. Zealand Government has subsidised the undertaking to the amount of L4OO ; and, from the previous works we may expect that the Gazetteer of New Zealand* will be a valuable book, and a fitting companion work to those already published.
