POST OFFICE SAVINGS' BANKS.
i Ti>e JVeip Ztalmul Gazette, oi March 2511* publishes the fallowing regulations fur the banks as. above newly established at Christchurch, Lyttelton, Kaianai, Timary, 4 k;\roa, Hokifciko, Greymauifcn and Waimate :— 1. Interest at the rate oi 5 pet cent, par annum is given on sums less than L2DO ,- at the rate of 4 per cent, per anniun on sums over L6QO ; and in the same proportion for any shorter time on, every complete LI de- | posited, provided that no interest be allowed on more than LSCO. 2. Depositors in the Past Oifiee Savings 1 Banks have direct Government security for the pronipt repayment of their money. 3. A depositor in any one of the Post. Office | Banks can continue Ms deposits at any other of such Banks, and can withdraw his. money at that Post Office Bank w^nchis most convenient to him. 4. The strictest secrecy is observed with 1 respecb to ifrie names oi (leyosihora ia\Poab , Office Banks, and the amounts of their deposits. 5. Married wojnen may deposit money n the Post Office Savings' Bank, and money so deposited mil be repaid to. tl\e depositor unless her husband gives notice, in writing, of marriage^ and claims payment pf the deposits, 6. Money may b,e deposited by or on be&a(f of wuwrs.
