W:} :^ ■:■■.-. ■.. : /defined by an Ordinance of t2ie Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Canterbury intituled " The Provincial Council Extension Ordinance 1866 " and all "the laws applicable to the election of members of Provincial Councils apply to the election of the Council hereby constituted. 15. Upon and after the day on which this Act shall be brought inio operation as hereinafter provided the members elected to; represent the districts and towns aforesaid in the Provincial Council* of the Province of Canterbury shall cease to be members of the said Provincial Council and so much of the said Provincial Council Extension Ordinance as provides for the election of membera for the said district and towns respectively is hereby repealed. 16. All estate and interest of the Superintendent of the said Province in any public reserves or lands within the said County shall upon the coming into opera.tion of this Act-forthwith vest in the who shall have with respect to ' such reserves all the powers conferred upon the Superintendent and Provincial Council by grant under " The Public Reserves Act 1854." > .17. It shall be lawful for the Governor in Council from time to time as he may, think fit by proclamation published in the New Zealand Gazette to make regulations for the sale letting disposal occupation and .management of any waste lands of the Crown and to alter the laws in force within the said County of Westland at the time of the coining into operation of this Act regulating the sale letting disposal occupation and manage-, meut of such lands within the said County of Westland.and to sell.let and dispose thereof at such prices sind in such allotments and generally in such manner as lie shall deem expedient and in like manner to alter vary or annul any such regulations and to make others Provided that -it shall not be lawful by any such l'egulation to authorise the sale, of land classified under such regulations as rural land at a less price than ten shillings per acre Provided also that nothing in this section contained shall affect or authorise the making of regulations to affect any promise contract or engagement made by or on behalf oi her Majesty previously, to the coming into operation of this Act and then incomplete or unfulfilled.. 18. It shall be lawful for the Governor in Council to do and order all things I necessary for bringing this Act into! operation according to the true intent thereof. 39. This Act shall come into force upon such day as the Governor shall by proclamation direct. .
