LATEST TELEGRAMS.

(FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.) Christchurch, Sept. 11. Information has been received from Wellington that Mr Hall has resigned the oflice of Postmaster-General, and it is understood that he will be succeeded by Major Richardson. It is rumored that Kennedy, late Governor of Vancouver's Island, will succeed Sir George Grey as Governor of NewZealand, and be is expected to arrive by the next Panama Mail. The reports from the " Thames Gold Field " are very conflicting. There aro about 500 men on the ground. It is said that lumps of rich quartz have been found, but no quantity of gold has yet reached Auckland. The analysis of the gold found shows it to be of a very inferior quality, and only worth L2os an ounce. No, payable alluvial workings have yet been discovered. Arrived— The Wellington, s.s., from Wellington.
