The amount of revenue received at the Custom House on goods passed for home ft msumption on Saturday and Mon/.lay, August 31 and Sept. 2, was as follows :— Saturday - - - £0 0 0 Men lay r - : 20 8 0 £20 8 0 Gold duty - - - - £402 0 2. Dunedin.— The Daily Times, of the 23rd ult, reports as follows f— Markets during the past day or two have not shpwn any great briskness, though transactions for absolute requirements have kept up an appearance. Country trade still suffers frpm the state of the weather preventing the forwarding of supplies, and "the business doing for co.stwise requirements is at the moment extremely light. We can point to no goodjj as having been dealt in to an extent sufficient to change quotations or furnish occagion for notice.
