THE TRUCK SYSTEM AT THE NELSON GOAL MINE.
(To the Editor of the Grey River Argus.) Sm— A Mr Taylor is keeping a store at the mine, and unless men deal with him and pay 30 per cent, more than they can obtain their supplies for at the next store, lie (Mr Taylor) makes himself obnoxious, and the men are obliged to leave their employment. As this seems to cause a deal of disaffection among the miners, I think it ought to be given publicity through the medium of your valuable journal, as I am sure if some of tlie directors or manager knew that such things existed they wojtild thoroughly investigate the matter. ' ' I am, &c, Edward Hugkbs, Late Blacksmith at the Nelson Coal Mine, April 19, 1867.
