FRANCS.

The Emperor, it is said, is to bo now seen evei-y clay driving or riding about Paris or the subvirbs. One day lie goes to inspect the progress of the Exhibition Palace in the Champ de Mars ; on another to surest certain changes in the laying out of the Trocadero. Next day he will be shooting at St. Germain, and a day or two afterwards be riding on horseback, attended by a couple of aides-de-camp, along the quays, past the Halles, and back .again to the Tnillevies by way of the Boulevards. Coupling all this with his recent- feats in skating, there can be no question but that his health is thoroughly re-established. The Chambers are to open on Feb. 14. That day haa been fixed by an Imperial decree. It is believed that the session will be- a very short one, and that when it is over the Corps Legislatif will be dissolved, and fresh elections take place. The France publishes some of the principal provisions of the new bill, on the freedom of the press, which arc of so oppressive and severe a nature as to entirely disentitle the measure of the charaoter of a liberal concossinn. Should the Bill on the right of meeting be conceived in a similar spirit, the whole plan would be derided and laughed to scorn. It is to be hoped that the France is the victim of a hoax.
