The mission brigantine Day Spring, after absence of three years, has returned to to rent. She has been engaged in work amongst the South Sea Islands, particularly between New Hebrides, the Islands, Samoa llaratonga, and the Alicis in the Tokelau group. In the execuof her business of transmission sl.e has as many »g eighty ,t\vo persons from to the other at a time, and has had less that twenty passengers on Wellington Post, March 2S. The s.s. Wallaby left Nelson on Tuesday, 2nd April, at 4 p.m,, and arrived at Wclat .7 a.m. on the following day . Dis50 tons cargo, and took in 15 tons for Wanganui, Left at S p.m., and arrived Wanganui on Thursday, at 9 a.m. Took boar 3 a cargo of live, stock, and left at 11 p.m. on Sunday, and arrived at the Buller on Monday, at 8 p,m t , after a passage of 30 hours, Landed 27 bullocks and 100 sheep, aiid-rrpgeedfd to Fox's, but owing to the sea running, "cbnid hot communicate with, the shore. Returned to to the Buller H next morning and discharged 33 bullocks and 50 sheep and calves, and left again on Friday, 2 p.m., arriving offthe Grey at 10 a.m. yesterday, Waited for the tide, and entered -at about half-post 3 o'clock. She 2000oz. of gold for the Bank of New schooner Rambler left Port Phillip on the 16th ult. with a light N.E. which lasted for the first day or two. a heavy gale in the Straits from and afterwards had N.E. and S.E. all the way down to the New Zealand %pst. On Wednesday week last experienced Jpieavy gale from the N.E., which suddenly round to S.W., with a tremendous running, which lasted for six hours. Since had moderate winds and variable weauntil reaching $he Grey, An;ved off at 5 a.m. on Wednesday, and was towed in by the Dispatch at 1 o'clock. The s.s, Keera left the river bound to Dunedin yesterday afternoon. The pilot at the signal station evidently thinking she was rather late on the tide, hauled down the flag WT\ as a caution that the passage of the bar was W z not easy. Captain Jc^ce however ventured, B and although the steamer got a good buffetB ing oxl the bar, she succeeded in making a B^.*good offing, and started north about on. her pjgvoyage to Dunedin.
