GREYMOUTH RACES.
(To the Editor of the Grey River Argus.) Sir — As it seems the general impression that my horse Kohler was not ridden fairly for the Cobden Plate, I wish to disabuse the public mind on the point. The real fact of the matter is, that the distance post was not sufficiently conspicuous, hence the error ; and I was myself much disappointed in the result, and positively assure the public that no collusion was ever thought of, on my part. Further, I have subscribed liberally, and induced my friends to lend r their mite —with very little thanks or encouragement, I must confess, jg? I-ma've this statement in order to place myself correctly with the sporting community, irrespective of any counter influence or niis-statoments. .■"■* ; Jamy&c, ■-;.. » 5 ;.-sr ■;-- r^S^GARFORTH.
