Prime samples of barley/ suitable for seed, .have been placed at 3s 3d to 3s. 6d. Maize has been disposed of at 3s 9d .to. ;3s lOd, by auction ; trade sales continue to be effected at 4s. A large demand has sprung up within the last few days for boots and shoes, and considerable transactions have been effected at improved rates. Shipments to arrive and on the spot, to the extent of L 15,000; have been quited privately. This is a rather unusual circumstance ; goods of this description being generally sold under the hammer. Genuine well assorted invoices are now well worth twenty to twenty-five per cent advance. & parcel ofsi}g^^jg|gMj tainin&j^^jtfflHPjPVß^^Rerras fully susg^P^^fiesales. A consignment of ten of Miintz metal has changed hands for export, at 9£d per lb. Malt is quite neglected; we, however, learn of the sale of a parcel of BQQ bushels, at 11s in b^^' Under the hammer, candles, in! faiiltyilSlindition, were disposed of at Is 2^cl to l^SHi) and sound parcels found buyers, at Is 2|d" to "is 3|d, net cash; Tho Neva Company, this afternoon, announced a reduction in the price of their brands of a penny, the rate now required being Is 4d. In kerosene oil no actual sales have come uuler our notice. Trausaotious are, however, said to be pending on account of another market. In liquids, we note sales of Preston whiskey at close on 9s 6d, A parcel of 300 cases JDKZ geneva has been sold at 10s. In Hennessy's case brandy we note a marked decline, sales being freely made in parcels at 225. Some 800 cases of Duuphy's stout, sold all faults, realised 6s. The cargo of sugar, per Danish ||eauty, will be offered by x>ublic sale to-morrow. In timber we 'note Bales by > auction of the Western Chief's and Atalauta's spruce detils, and 20,000 feet clear white and liOOjrcd deals, ex Morning LigLt ; also, 74,000 slates ex Beatrice. '
