TTOD DAY—WEDNESDAY. The Gueymouth Handicap, of 100 soys, open to all horses ; two miles and a quarter ; the second horse to have his full entrance money returned. Nominations, with only 2 soys, to be made on the night of general entry. The weights will be made and declared previous to 9 o'clock in the evening of the second day's racing, so as to allow the 'Stewards full opportunity- of rating the merits of the holies by the previous two days' run--1 ning. Acceptances, with 8 soys, must be giyen to the Clerk of the Course previous to 11 o'clock the same evening. The Cobdkn Plate, of '30 soys, under the same conditions as the Trial Stakes ; but the winner of that race to carry 7ibs ijenalty, and the second horse 31 bs:' The winner of the Local Plate to carry 51bs penalty ; heats ; one mile and a quarter. Entrance, 3 soys. Tub Ladies' Pukse, of — soys, (presented by the ladies of Greymouth and Cobden) with a sweep of 5. soys each added ; open to all horses ; gentlemen riders ; welter weight for age ; one mile and a half. Each horse must qimlify by being ridden, previous to the start, over a hiu> die in front of the Grand S^and, Hckdlk Handicap of 50 soys, with a sweep of 5 soys eivtfb added ; the second horse to receive 10 soys from the stake. Nominations,* with 2 soys entrance fee, to be made on the night of general entry. The weights will be made and declared on the second evening, as for the Greymouth Handicap ; acceptances, with the 5 soys sweep, also at same time as foj; the Greymouth Handicap. Consolation Stake of 25 soys, for all horses that have not won during the meeting ; handicap, one mile. Entrance, 2 soys. REGULATIONS. The rules of the Canterbury Jockey Club will be enforced, unless when otherwise specified Entries and nominations to be made on Friday^eyeuiug, March 15th, previous to nine o'clockfut Kilgour's Union Hotel. All entries and acceptances must be in writing, specifying age and description of horse, and colors of rider ; ar.d contain the requisite money. All horses must be ridden in colors.
