On all other instruments the stamp must be affixed at the Stamp-office; any stamp not so affixed is of no avail, and the iustrunient to which it is affixed is unstamped within the meaning of the Act. All instruments required to be stamped after execution (except those specified in Section 16) must be presented at the Stamp Office within one month after the date of execution, or they are subject to a fine of 20 per cent, on the value of the stamp to be affixed. About 100,000 Acres for Sale, at.the upset price of 10s per Acre. Notice is hereby given, that the Waste Land Board of Otago have resolved, with the sanction of the Superintendent arid Provincial Council, to sell by auction, under the powers conferred by clause 35 of the " Otago Waste Land Act, 1866," the unsold surveyed lands within the Hundreds of Dunedin, East and West Taieri, North and South Tokomairiro, and West and East Clutha, and WaihoTa, at the upset price of 10s per acre. * The sale of the above lands will commence on Tuesday, the 26th day of March, 1867, at 12 o'clock, within the Provincial Council Hall, Government Buildings, Dunedin j and will begin with the allotments in the Dunedin Hundred, followed by those in the other Hundreds, in the order named above. The sale will be- continued from day to day. The Gazette, stating the sections, &c, of land for sale, can be obtained at the Waste Land Office, Dunedin, the Survey Offices at Lawrence, Clyde, and Queenstown, and at all the Post-offices, and School-houses throughout the Province, free of charge.
