The amount pf revenue received at the Customs on goods cleared for home cqnsnmpficn on Saturday and Monday was as follows : — Saturday, January 12, £150 9s 3d ; Monday, January 14. £72 Cs 9d Hokitjka.— Tfyft Wed Coprt Times of Saturday reports as follows;— We haye to note a considerably activity in lmsine.ss during the week, stocks' having run .low. The trade have entered freely into the market^ and a considerable quantity of goods has changed hands. We haye nb material alteration to note in prices of leading articles. The demand continues good. Our auctioneers 'have been well employed during the week. The following prices having been realised will give an index of the market : — By Mr G> W. By Messrs Sprot and Craig, at tbei rooms, on the Bth instant — Hennessy's brai.dy, - 8s 2d per gallon, in bond, a parcel colonial bacon, lid; coffee, Harper's, Is Id per lb ; pepper, do, lO^tl ; labsters, lib tins, 9s 9d ]er dozen ; bottled fr,uits, 18s per dozen ; Buehan's sarsaparilla, 3Ss per dozen, < duty paid ; oats, 5s pel* bushel ; aud an extensive assortment of sundries at remunerative rates. By Messrs Carey and Gilles, the cargo of the Bella Visto, from HobartTown — Tasmanian butter, Is 3d per lb ; oats, 5s 2d ; hay, Ll2 per ton ; chaffy Ll4 ; colonial jams, Od per lb ; green fruits, per case, 10s to ISs ; carrots, 15s per cwt ; potatoes, new, Ll3 per toil ; bran, Is JUd per bushel. We have also to' note a large sale of drapery at the warehouse of Messrs Cuthbertson and Co, by Mr G. W. Binney, well attended by the trade, and the prices obtained — although not in advance of rueent rates— were on the whole satisfactory. The demand for bams, bacon, and provisions generally is good, showing an upward tendency.
