P.S. — An accident of a rather serious nature happened on Thursday last as a party of men Avere coming south from Fox's. On ascending Jacob's Ladder, one of them, called John Francis, slipped from the top of the chain ladder, a distance of 30 feet, breaking his leg below the knee. But for his mate being qn the ledge below and catching him, he would haA'e gone down a distance of some; 30 feet more over the rocks. He now lies close by in his tent, where, oh information of the accident being sent to Fox's, Dr Hays was dispatched by the authorities to render every possible assistance to t^e sufferer. An effort is being made to brjng a boat round to the hay .where, he now lies, in order to remove him to Greymouth.
