GREYMOUTH RACES.
A meeting, specially called by Mr F. D Hamilton, . respecting the proposed Grcymoutli races, was, held at KiJgour's, \Jnion Hotel, on Wednesday evening hist. Thp following gentlemen were present : — Jlcssys Qomiskoy, KJlgpmy Hughes^ Boucher, «Jo,hnston, Micldleton, Somnor, i^.ccn^n, Maxwell, Slattery, Maclean, Fisher, M'Farland,' Qlenn, Hamilton, Kennedy, Sliecdy, SAiiytlie, Ashton, Fitzgerald, Cr-awfoyd', and. 'others. Mr Comiskey av.ls voted to the chair. ' The Chairman expiated the object o£ the meeting, and ' called, for any ; propositions on the matter. Mr Kilcjour proposed that there shoult\ be a rage meeting;, th,e, success pf the late Hokitika nieetjug being a guo,c\ guarantee. ,. .. for- similar success here, as, Greymouth was known not to be inferior in spirit to. any place on the We3^ Qpa&t. Mr Mißia.s!QN seconded the m.atipn v which was carried. The Qhajbman suggested that thei^e ba • three days* pacing, and the celebration of . §t. . Patrick's .'/Pay. be the first day of the. meeting.
