The General Government Gazettce contains a notice that the new rates of postage will come into force on the Ist January. For the information of our readers, we re-publish these rates : — I — TOWN LETTERS. Posted at any post-office within the Jolony for delivery at or from such post-office — Not exceeding half an 'iimce - - Id Exceeding half an ou' '.cc l , but not exceeding one ounce • - - 2d For every ounce or fraction of an ounce over one ounce - - - 2d II— COUNTRY LETTERS. Posted at jvny post-office within the Colony for delivery at or from any other post-office within the same Province — Not exceeding half an ounce - - 2d Exceeding half an ounce, but not exceeding one ounce - - - 4d For every ounco or fraction of an ounce over one ounce - - - 4d III — INTEK-ntOVINCIAL LETTERS. Posted at any post-office within the Colony for delivery n,t or from .any post-office in any other Province within the Colony — .Not exceeding half an ounce - ■ 3d Exceeding half an ounce, but not cxceading one ounce - Gd For every ounce or fraction of an ounca over one ounce - - - Cd
