THE NEW POSTAL RATES.
The General Government Gazettee contains a notice that the new rates of postage will come into force on the Ist January. For the information of our readers, we re-publish these rates : — I — TOWN LETTERS. Posted at any post-office within the Oolony for delivery at or from such post-office — Not exceeding half an ounce - -Id Exceeding half an ounce, but not exceeding one ounce - • - 2d For every ounce or fraction of an ounce over one ounce - - - 2d II — COUNT L! Y LETTERS. Posted at any post-oflice within the Colony for delivery at or from any other post-office within the same Province — Not exceeding half an ounce - - 2d Exceeding half an ounce, but notexeeeding one ounce - - - 4d For every ounce or fraction of an ounce over one ounce - • - 4d III— INTER-PROVINCIAL LETTERS. Posted at any post-office within the Colony for delivery at or from any post-office in any other Province within the Colony — Not exceeding half an ounce - - 3d Exceeding half an ounce, but not excesding one ounce - - - 6d For every ounce or fraction of an ounc9 over one ounce - - - 6d
