Spirits and wines have been in fair enquiry, but prices have not improved in any degree. The announced sale of the Claymore's' cargo has prevented purchases of genevas and light wines, though the demand for the latter would othersvise have been good ; malt liquors have, with the exception pf s,tout iv glass, been yevy dull, a fe'sy hogsheads of ales being the only bulk goods placed. Stouts maintain their value, and continue in good demand. The intelligence from Melbourne and from the West Coast has been favorable to holders of provisions, who have been able to quit some considerable parcels for shipment; the prices accepted have scarcely ex- 1 hibited any improvement, but there is a ten- ' dency to an advance.
