Yet such is the case, as the replies sent by the Cominis- . sioner's clerk to Mr Kilgour, one of ; ithe directors of the Tramway, most clearjly show'; ahd in* order that* the public, may also thoroughly understand them, I enclose copies. As. the prefix to the telegrams, I must observe that some time since I posted two communications to Mr Sale on the business of the -Company, both of which required immediate answers, and which induced the Chairman,' relying as he did upon^their receipt, to call a general meeting of shareholders for this eventing. Both of my communications were receiv.ed,<as, on September 12, at 14' minutes past 1 o'clock, Mr Sale telegi-aphed— "A reply' was posted on the 10th inst., a copy shall be sent to-day." Of course, on Thursday out for the desired missive, Jmt was again disappointed ; and, after inquiry, Received, at 3.24 p.m,f.from Mr Eaton, the following instead — "Copy of original letter sent tins evening, but will not be in time for ineeting'to-night. " A stringent examination and inquiry has bepn.inade at the Post Office here, and no such communication has ever N been received.
